When did you start running, and why? It will be 7 years on the 4th of July. My husband wanted my daughter and I to race together…just a 5K. I thought I was going to puke at the end!
What is your all-time favorite race, and why? My favorite race is Pleasant Creek Trail Run! It was my first trail race. Where I fell in love with trails!
What is the most important thing you’ve learned from running? The most important thing I’ve learned is that you have some wonderful friends near or far! I love seeing all the running community in person! But if not, there is always social media. No matter what level you run, they will encourage you! It’s a great feeling! ❤️
What race would you like to run, and why? I would like to run Loud Thunder 50K again. The inaugural race was supposed to take place last April. (If you want a challenge for a trail race, you have to try this one–50K or 50 miles!) I could not finish. Mission is to try again in 2022. Some people said, “Once is enough for me.”
What is the most unique or odd experience you’ve had during a race–whether running, crewing, or spectating? Running a Ragnar Trail in the middle of the night. It feels like you are the only one out there. And you hear all kinds of noises, like coyotes, wolves howling. Sounds like they’re are right next to you. Oh wait–that is someone falling because they can’t see all the roots ?
Gear talk! Tell us about your go-to’s (shoes, socks, packs, fuel, etc.): I’m a Brooks and Altra girl for shoes. For road I wear Glycerin; for trail I wear Cascadia, Lone Peak, and Olympus 4. I use Orange Mud for my pack and Tailwind for fuel. Monolith is, of course, my new gear!
What is something most people might not know about you? I’m left handed.
Anything else you want to share? My husband should say that I spend a lot of money. Yes, all the races! ? Love being on running teams like Monolith! I can’t get enough of it. Love the outdoors! ❤️
