My trail running experience started in 2016. After running track in high school and College I took a few years off and never really ran. I got back into running by doing some local 5Ks, which lead me to finding a few trail races and ultimately ultras. I kept thinking to myself 50-100 miles, those people are crazy. While training for races I had a back injury that sidelined me for about a year. Then In 2018, I completed two 50K races, the Prairie Spirt trail race, and Kansas Rails to Trails. I had become an Ultra runner. I find the ultimate peace while running on trails, like everything else in the world just disappears. Also, the trail running community is the best.  They don’t care if you come in first or DFL, everyone is out here for the same reason. I’ve also made some great friends out on the trails. My future goals are to finish my first 100 miler this fall and to complete the Kansas Ultra running grand slam next year. Probably my favorite trail run is the Hitchcock Endurance Run. I look forward to meeting you out on the trails!!
